In order to strengthen discipline construction and implement the high-quality development of graduate education, November 26, 2021, 9:30 am, the College of Food Science and Engineering specially invited Professor Gao Yingjie to give a lecture on the theme of “Subject, Scholars and Students”. The meeting was held in the meeting room on the third floor of the Food Building and was presided over by the Dean Professor Zhang Tiehua. All the teachers who did not undertake the teaching task of the college participated in the meeting.

At the report meeting, Professor Gao made wonderful speeches on the concept, connotation, key content and principles of the subject, common problems, and specific measures and suggestions for strengthening the subject, and made a profound exposition on the relationship between the subject, scholars and students. He said that teachers should strengthen cooperation and exchanges between disciplines, understand the differences and connections between disciplines and majors, clarify the key content of discipline construction, and more importantly, treat the relationship between disciplines, scholars and students correctly, and grasp the inner link between the three,  build a benign organic academic ecology with coordinated interaction between disciplines, scholars and students and forming academic synergy, contributing teachers’ strength.

In the end, Dean Zhang Tiehua made a concluding speech. He said that teachers should strive to be “Si You Good Teachers”. They should combine their efforts, highlight key points, build hierarchical construction, and not be afraid of difficulties, improve research capabilities, and improve scientific research results. Everyone should be involved in the construction of disciplines, should lead by example, set an example in academic integrity work, improve their professional capabilities, and play a leading and exemplary role. This report meeting further clarified the relationship between the disciplines, scholars and students of the graduate tutors, and inspired the graduate tutors to do a good job in the cultivation of graduate students, cultivate morality, devote themselves to academic research, and strive to be a “Da Xian Sheng” in the new era. At the same time, the graduate education of our school has taken a new step towards high-quality development!
